Celebrating the Innovative Spirit of Cohort 2 at the Zero Labs x UNLV Innovation Launchpad
The Zero Labs Innovation Launchpad has successfully concluded its second cohort, once again transforming the Black Fire Innovation building into a bustling center of creativity and groundbreaking ideas. From May 17-19, we welcomed 19 exceptional teams, represented by 33 visionary founders, to collaborate, innovate, and push the boundaries of what’s possible. This event, held in collaboration with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Office of Economic Development and the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), showcased the vibrant talent emerging from Las Vegas and beyond.
Cohort 2 of the Innovation Launchpad exemplified the dynamic and innovative spirit driving the future of Nevada’s core industries. It was inspiring to see such a diverse group of founders come together to transform their visions into reality.
The weekend began with an intensive day of work that culminated in a vibrant networking event on Friday evening, attended by 115 participants, including industry leaders, venture capitalists, and aspiring entrepreneurs. This event fostered valuable connections, creating a collaborative atmosphere essential for the program’s success. Over the weekend, participants honed their ideas with the guidance of 23 subject matter experts, engaging in workshops that covered everything from business strategy to development approaches.
The teams showcased their groundbreaking work in various industries critical to Las Vegas' present success and future prosperity, ranging from the use of generative AI to improve educational outcomes at every level, to hardware-based quantum random number generators, which have a potentially huge role to play in the future of gaming and cybersecurity. Their dedication and creativity in building the future of these sectors are truly inspiring.
The energy and creativity brought by these participants were truly inspiring, paving the way for groundbreaking advancements right here in Las Vegas.
Post-program, participants will continue to receive support through an active community platform, office hours, and other resources provided by Zero Labs, UNLV OED, and GOED. As they move forward, they carry the mantle of mentorship for future cohorts, ensuring a continuous cycle of innovation and growth.
